On Saturday 17 June, over 220 members of the Nelson community and the Mazda Foundation and Project Crimson transformed an under-utilized area of Nelson Central School's grounds into a sensory outdoor learning area.
Their new garden features native shrubs, edible garden, bird houses, weta homes, ladybird motels, a sound wall utilising recycled materials as musical instruments, an area dedicated to textures that the children can enjoy with their bare feet and jumping posts for balance and motor skills as well as a giant hammock for relaxation!
